Steamboat Daily Snow

Light snow, conditions softening through midweek at Steamboat
Summary
Multiple waves of snow will move across Colorado from Sunday through Tuesday night with mostly light accumulations and perhaps a few bursts of steadier snow.
Short Term Forecast
On Saturday morning, both the mid-mountain and summit snow stakes picked up 2 inches. Then there was no real accumulation on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.
On Sunday and Sunday night, most of the snow over Colorado will stay to the south and we’ll likely see little or no snow accumulations.
On Monday and Monday night, another wave of snow will move over Colorado and we should pick up a few inches.
On Tuesday and Tuesday night, the final wave of snow will move over Colorado and this wave will track farther to the north and will thus deliver a higher chance for at least a few inches of accumulation. Watch for the softest turns to be on Tuesday and perhaps Wednesday morning.
Wednesday, Thursday, and most of Friday should be dry.
Extended Forecast
I am watching two potential storms during the longer-range period.
The first storm should bring snow from Friday night through Saturday night, January 29-30. We will likely see at least moderate accumulations and the potential for soft turns on Saturday and maybe also on Sunday morning (January 31st).
Then another storm should arrive late on February 2nd and this system could be the first wave of multiple days of snow which may bring us deep snow totals and soft turns through early February. Fingers crossed, and I am optimistic that this could be a good storm cycle for us.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
