Summary

Wednesday was a delicious powder day and Thursday morning's leftovers will be equally scrumptious.

Update

Wednesday's wind direction did NOT blow from the northwest and instead blew from a favorable west-northwest direction. This allowed the fluffy snow to pile up from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening with 9 inches at mid-mountain and 16 inches at the summit.

With about 8 inches of snow falling at the summit after lifts closed on Wednesday afternoon, there will be deep and fluffy turns to enjoy for Thursday morning's first chair.

The weather forecast from Thursday, January 19 through about Saturday, January 28 is for chilly temperatures and maybe a few periods of light snow. High temperatures each day will be in the single digits or teens, and our best chance for snowfall will be a few inches on Sunday into Monday and also maybe a few inches sometime during the middle of next week.

Looking further ahead, there is a chance for a stronger storm or storm cycle during the final 3-4 days of January, though that is 10+ days away, so we'll need to wait at least a few more days before we can have a shred of confidence in the forecast. In the meantime, conditions will be soft with a deep base, which is as much as we can hope for in between storm cycles.
