Monday was mostly sunny and dry, then on Monday night, the first storm of the week delivered clouds and light snow accumulation with a coating to 1 inch at mid-mountain and about 1 inch at the summit.

Now on Tuesday morning, a favorable wind from the west is helping the atmosphere to generate snow and maybe we'll see a couple of inches of accumulation on Tuesday as the first storm of the week departs and the second storm of the week heads toward Colorado.

From Tuesday night through Wednesday, the second storm of the week will strengthen over southwestern Colorado and this will mean that the wind will blow from the east here at Steamboat. A wind from the east is not favorable for snowfall and I anticipate little to no snow accumulation and gusty winds through Wednesday midday.

For Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, expect dry and mostly sunny weather. Thursday's high temperature will be in the single digits, then Friday and Saturday will be warmer with a high temperature in the 20s.

Looking further ahead, there is still a strong signal for stormy weather early next week, with snow potentially starting to fall around Sunday, February 19, and a high chance for moderate or even significant snow totals early next week, around Monday, February 20 to Wednesday, February 22.
