Snow on Wednesday, more showers through Friday

Summary

A storm will move through Colorado on Wednesday with decent snowfall, and we should see more flakes on Thursday and Friday.

Update

Tuesday was dry and partly sunny, then on Tuesday night, the storm arrived in Colorado and we managed to sneak out 1 inch at mid-mountain and 2-3 inches at the summit.

Today on Wednesday and through tonight on Wednesday night, energy from the storm will cross Colorado and we should see multiple rounds of snowfall. That said, the wind direction will be from the southwest and west-southwest and this is not favorable for us, so I think our snow totals will be moderate at best, maybe 4-8 inches or so. This might result in some powder on Wednesday during the day and maybe also on Thursday morning if some of this snow falls after lifts close on Wednesday afternoon.

For the rest of the week on Thursday, Thursday night, and Friday, snow showers will continue, though an unfavorable wind direction from the southwest will also continue, so I expect just lighter snow accumulations during this time. Some forecast data hints that there could be a higher chance of more snow on Friday, so that will be something to watch. Of note, Thursday and Friday will be chilly with high temperatures in the teens.

Friday night through Sunday morning will be dry, then the next storm should bring a moderate amount of snow from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. My initial estimate is for 5-10 inches of snow with some powder possible for Sunday's last chair, and a higher chance for some powder for Monday morning's first chair.

Looking further ahead, we could see dry weather around February 27-28, then more storms are highly likely during the first 7-10 days of March.
