The most snow should fall on Wednesday evening

Summary

The storm will move closer on Wednesday with some snow and warmer air, and then our best chance for steady snow will be on Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.

Update

Tuesday was dry and warm with a high temperature in the 30s.

And then on Tuesday night, we saw a few snowflakes at the summit with just a dusting of accumulation.

Now on Wednesday morning, we have cloudy skies with a few snowflakes in the air.

Wednesday will be the first part of the storm. This part of the storm will be warm and the rain/snow line will be pretty high and rain will be possible near the base area. Higher up on the mountain, there could be a few inches of snow accumulation, especially during the late afternoon.

Wednesday evening to Thursday morning will be the second part of the storm. This part of the storm will be colder and we could see a period of moderate to intense snow on Wednesday evening or Wednesday night which could bring 4-8 inches of fluffier snow and possible powder on Thursday morning. Then snow showers could linger through Thursday afternoon. The high temperature on Thursday should be in the mid-teens.

Friday and Saturday will likely be dry with snow showers close by but probably staying mostly to the south and east. The high temperatures on these days should be in the upper teens to low 20s.

From Sunday, March 19 to Tuesday, March 21, we could see snow showers though I don't think accumulations will be impressive.

And then from Wednesday, March 22 to Friday, March 24, it is likely that a stronger storm will move through Colorado and one or more of these days could wind up being powder days with deeper snow and cooler temperatures.
