A midweek storm

Summary

Tuesday should be mainly dry, then we'll see precipitation from Tuesday night through Thursday afternoon with possible powder on Thursday morning.

Update

Monday was mainly dry and partly sunny with a comfortable high temperature ranging from the upper 20s to mid-30s.

Tuesday will also be mainly dry with some sunshine and a comfortable high temperature in the low-to-mid 30s. This is the time of year when the sun angle is higher in the sky and any warm sunshine starts to work over the snow pretty quickly.

Tuesday night to Wednesday afternoon will be the first part of the storm. This part of the storm will be warm and the rain/snow line will be pretty high and rain will be possible near the base area. Higher up on the mountain, there could be a few inches of snow accumulation.

Wednesday evening to Thursday afternoon will be the second part of the storm. This part of the storm will be colder and we could see a period of intense snow on Wednesday evening or Wednesday night which could bring 4-8 inches of fluffier snow and possible powder on Thursday morning. Then snow showers could linger through Thursday afternoon. The high temperature on Thursday should be in the mid-teens.

Friday and Saturday will likely be dry with snow showers close by but probably staying mostly to the south and east. The high temperatures on these days should be in the upper teens to low 20s.

In the longer range, we could see snow showers between March 19-22, and then the next chance for a stronger storm should be around Thursday, March 23 to Saturday, March 25.
