A storm just before Christmas

Summary

We will see mostly dry and warm weather this week, then a storm could bring snow from Saturday to Monday.

Update

We now have about 75% of trails open, and while we will not see any new snow this week, at least the low sun angle of late December will preserve our snowpack.

For this week, Monday through Friday will be dry.

For temperatures, mornings will likely bring inversions with colder temperatures at the base and warmer readings up on the mountain. Highs each day should range from in the upper 20s to the upper 30s, and Monday will likely be the warmest day of the week.

For sunshine, Monday, Thursday, and the first part of Friday should be the sunniest times, with more clouds covering the sky during other times.

And for precipitation, there is just a low chance for a few snow showers on Wednesday morning as weak storm energy crosses Colorado.

Looking ahead to our next storm, we should see snow from sometime on Saturday night through Monday with at least a few inches of snow accumulation. If we do see this snow, the softest conditions could occur on Sunday and perhaps also on Monday morning (Christmas Day).

After that, we'll likely see a few dry days next week, and then another storm might arrive during the final few days of December or the first few days of January.
