Waiting and hoping

Summary

Enjoy the sunshine for now, and there are some signs of hope for snow during the next two weeks.

Update

Thursday was a sunny and gorgeous day with a high temperature in the 20s, and we'll see the same weather today on Friday.

Coming up, while most of the next 10 days will be dry with a lot of sunshine and a high temperature in the 20s, we will see a few chances for snow.

  • Sunday, December 31 to Monday, January 1 - a few flakes?

  • Wednesday, January 3 - a few flakes?

  • Friday, January 5 - a few flakes to maybe light accumulations

  • Monday, January 8 to Wednesday, January 10 - colder with significant snow possible

Unless we get lucky during the next week and a storm brings more snow than expected, we'll make do with the snow that we have and be thankful that cool temperatures and a low sun angle will keep the snow in decent shape.

The period starting around and after Monday, January 8 will be the one to watch for a potentially significant snowstorm, and we'll dial in the details of this potential storm as the time gets closer.
