Fresh snow and (a lot) more on the way
Summary
We saw new snow on Thursday night, and with more on the way through Saturday morning, we're finally back to softer conditions. Woohoo!
Update
Thursday delivered light snow during the day as a storm moved to the east.
On Thursday night, decent moisture combined with a favorable wind direction to create 5 inches of snow across the mountain.
Friday and Friday night will bring more snow with another 3-6+ inches of accumulation, and actual numbers may be higher due to the combination of moisture, a favorable wind direction, and favorable temperatures. This will create soft conditions on Friday with likely the softest (powder?) conditions on Saturday morning. Friday's temperature will be in the teens.
Saturday should start with soft/powder conditions and snow should end by the late morning. The high temperature should be around 10°F.
On Sunday and Monday, a storm will track to the south of Colorado and we'll see a chance for a few inches of accumulation from later Sunday through early Monday. Temperatures on Sunday and Monday should be in the upper single digits to low teens.
Tuesday should be dry with a high temperature in the teens.
Then Wednesday, January 10 to Saturday, January 13 will bring multiple storms, a high likelihood for multiple powder days (or at least soft-on-soft conditions), and high temperatures in the upper single digits to low teens.
Looking ahead to mid-January, we'll see more chances for storms and potentially frigid air for a couple of days.
Overall, mountain conditions should soften and be very fun for most of the next 1-2 weeks.
