Snow through Saturday morning

Summary

Two storms will bring additional snow through the week, with soft/powder turns likely on Friday morning and Saturday morning.

Update

Wednesday

On Wednesday morning, we saw about 5 inches of snow at mid-mountain, which was more snow than I expected. Then most of Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night was dry with just a few snowflakes in the air.

Thursday

Thursday will be a mixed day with drier weather in the morning and then snow ramping up during the afternoon with maybe a few inches of accumulation by the time of last chair. The high temperature on Thursday will be in the upper teens to low 20s.

Then on Thursday night, snow should fall steadily with 3-6 inches of additional accumulation by Friday morning.

Friday

We should start the day with soft/powder conditions due to the new snow on Thursday night. We might see a lull in the snow during the morning (not sure...it could keep snowing) and the high temperature will be in the upper teens to low 20s.

Then another round of steadier snow should deliver 3-6+ inches on Friday afternoon and Friday night. The jet stream will be overhead on Friday night and this can lead to narrow bands of intense snow. So, there is some upside potential to the snow on Friday afternoon and Friday night.

Saturday

Saturday with start will soft/powder conditions due to the new snow from Friday night, and the weather on Saturday should be dry with clouds transitioning to sunshine during the afternoon. The high temperature on Saturday will be in the upper teens to low 20s.

Longer Range

Our next chances for snow will be from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, and then again from Wednesday to Thursday (February 21-22).

After that, there is a chance for more snow between February 25-27, and then we could see another storm during the final day or two of February or the first day or two of March.

My next update will be Friday morning.
