Thursday
Thursday will be dry with a high temperature in the mid-30s and manageable winds that gust to 25-35 mph.
Friday
Friday will be the final day of warmer temperatures and gusty winds. The high temperature should be in the mid-30s and wind gusts could reach 40-50 mph.
Friday Night & Saturday
A storm will bring snow from Friday night through Saturday mid-morning.
The multi-model snow forecast shows 4-8 inches on Friday night, and this looks reasonable to me.
There is upside potential due to abundant moisture and the jet stream overhead, and there is also downside potential as the latest forecast data shows that the storm may track a bit farther to the north.
One other caveat is that snow could continue to accumulate after Saturday morning's 5 am snow report and through mid-morning, so the actual amount of powder for Saturday's first chair could be more than what is shown on the morning snow report.
The result of this storm is that there should be some powder on Saturday morning. This new snow will likely ski the best on top of groomers because other areas of the mountain might have crunchy snow underneath due to this week's snow freezing as temperatures cool on Friday night.
Saturday's high temperature will be in the upper teens to low 20s, and wind speeds will be slower and not an issue.
Longer Range
On Sunday, February 9, snow showers may return with some accumulation.
On Monday, February 10, I think the weather will be dry.
From Tuesday, February 11, to Thursday, February 13, there could be snow showers, but the next storm will likely still be to the west.
Around Friday, February 14, to Saturday, February 15, the next storm could bring snow to Colorado, though the latest data shows that the highest snow totals could stay to the south of the mountain.
