Friday

Friday will be the final day of warmer temperatures and gusty winds. The high temperature should be in the mid-30s and wind gusts could reach 40-50 mph.

Friday Night & Saturday

A storm will bring snow from Friday night through Saturday mid-morning.

Our multi-model snow forecast shows 5-9 inches on Friday night, and this looks reasonable since the storm will be on a northerly storm track, closer to Steamboat.

There is upside potential due to abundant moisture and the jet stream overhead, and there is also downside potential as the latest forecast data shows that the storm may track even a bit farther to the north and east.

The powder on Saturday morning could be "dust on crust" with new snow on top of a firm and crunchy base, so riding the powder on previously groomed runs could be the softest scenario. Also, some snow could fall after the Saturday 5 am report, so there might be more snow to ride than what you see on the early morning report.

Saturday's high temperature will be in the upper teens to low 20s, and wind speeds will be slower and not an issue.

Longer Range

On Saturday night and Sunday, moisture and the jet stream will stick around, and there could be additional snow showers with light-ish accumulations.

On Monday, February 10, I think the weather will be dry.

From Tuesday, February 11, to Thursday, February 13, there could be snow showers, but the next storm will likely still be to the west.

Around Friday, February 14, to Saturday, February 15, the next storm could bring snow to Colorado, and the latest data shows that the highest snow totals could stay to the south of the mountain.

Then from Sunday, February 16 through the following week, one or two storms should track close to or through Colorado and will likely bring more snow.
