Steamboat Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Merry Christmas! We saw a bit of snow on Thursday night, and right now the atmosphere is trying to make it snow on Steamboat during the day on Friday, but the wind direction from the south and southeast is not favorable for snow. While the atmosphere might be able to overwhelm this wind direction and create light (or times of moderate) snow on Friday, the best chance for accumulations will be later Friday afternoon and Friday evening when we see a brief period of winds from west and northwest.

Following this storm, we should see dry and sunnier weather on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Conditions should be great as temperatures will be cold, which will presevere the 92 inches of snow we’ve seen during the month of December. Another fun statistic: Snow fell on 13 of the 15 days leading up to Christmas Day. That’s pretty darn good if you ask me:-)
