Steamboat Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 9 years ago December 31, 2015

Three inches of snow fell on Tuesday night, then much of Wednesday was dry. Now on Wednesday evening light snow is falling once again. We may be able to squeeze 1-3 inches out of the atmosphere on Wednesday night, so I am hopeful that Thursday morning’s groomers will be sprinkled with fresh flakes. Temperatures will remain cold on Thursday, which should keep snow conditions quite nice and soft.

Friday through next Monday will be dry and mostly sunny. Temperatures will warm into the 20s on Friday and should reach into the 30s over the weekend and early next week. The storm track next week will generally be to the south of Colorado, so chances of heavy snow are rather low, though we might see some snow later next week as a storm could push just far enough north to bring flakes back to Steamboat. That’s 7-9 days from now, and our weather models are not so accurate that far out, so continue doing your snow dance, hope for the best, and I’ll keep you updated!
