Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Update

We received 9 inches of snow on Wednesday midday and afternoon, then another 1 inch on Wednesday night. This means that you should find soft conditions and perhaps fresh tracks in some areas on Thursday morning – enjoy the new snow!

There might be times of light snow or flurries on Thursday, though I think any additional accumulations will be minimal.

From Thursday night through Friday afternoon, another storm will hit northern Colorado with an additional 6-12 inches of snow at Steamboat. When you look at the snow report on Friday morning, realize that there will be more snow falling throughout the day on Friday, so don’t let a smaller snow report at 5 am Friday keep you from skiing.

Again, your best chance to ski fresh powder will be first chair on Thursday and then most of the morning and midday on Friday.

Snow should taper off later on Friday, and most of this weekend will be on the drier side with just light snow showers or flurries possible.

Next week will be dry, then a significant storm should start late on Friday, January 19th or early on Saturday, January 20th, and a stormy pattern should continue through the end of January.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
