Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Update

The previous storm dropped 22 inches of snow on Steamboat, from Wednesday night through Saturday morning. I hope you were able to enjoy the fresh pow! The ski area is now 97% open, which I believe is the highest percentage of terrain in Colorado. Yippee!

After a mostly cloudy day on Saturday, when low clouds hung over Colorado’s northern mountains, now on Sunday, the early-morning clouds should eventually give way to mostly sunny weather on Sunday midday and afternoon.

On Monday, we might see a few snow showers and clouds as a weak storm drifts in from the northeast (an unusual direction).

Then on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the weather should be dry.

Late in the week, a significant storm should hit Steamboat from later Friday through Sunday (January 19-21), and it is looking likely that Saturday the 20th will be a powder day. Snow could continue, off-and-on, during the day on Saturday and Saturday night and you may also find powder on Sunday morning. Total snowfall should be in the 6-12 inch range, so plan for another powdery and fun weekend!

Following the storm on Friday through Sunday, we should see dry weather early the following week with another storm possible on or around Wednesday, January 24th.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
