Steamboat Daily Snow

Update
Friday was a fantastic powder day at Steamboat with about 3 inches falling on Thursday night and 3-6 additional inches falling during the day on Friday.
Also, a bit of snow continued to fall after lifts closed on Friday, with perhaps an additional inch between Friday at 3 pm and 8 pm. So on Saturday, you’ll find leftover powder stashes and soft snow across the mountain – enjoy!
On Saturday, you’ll likely find mostly dry and partly sunny weather with perhaps a few snow showers drifting in from the northwest.
On Sunday, expect dry weather.
On Monday, we might see a few snow showers as a weak storm drifts in from the northeast (an unusual direction).
And on Wednesday, we could get anything from sunny and dry weather to light snow and a few inches of accumulation. We’ll see where this storm goes … right now I have no clue!
Later in the week, a significant storm should hit Steamboat from later Friday through Saturday (January 19-20), and it is looking likely that Saturday the 20th will be a powder day. I usually do not talk about potential powder days that are 7-8 days away because the forecast will change, but in this case, there is remarkable consistency between all models, so I wanted to mention the good chance of powder next Saturday.
Also, the weather pattern should be active across the western US through the end of January, and this should mean chances for snow every few days at Steamboat through the end of the month. Woohoo!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
