Bluebird conditions in Sun Valley for MLK weekend

Summary

There's no chance of snow through the MLK weekend. Sunshine and bluebird conditions will prevail Friday the MLK holiday on Monday. High temps will range from 30-32 degrees. Perfect! Just a bit of a NW wind Friday with wind speeds varying from 5-15 mph. Enjoy!

High pressure is aloft in the Western United States, bringing dry weather and causing some ground fog and inversions in the mountain valleys. Weather models show this system is expected to stay in place through next week, perhaps to the end of the month.

GFS forecast model looking out for the next 10 days shows no snow coming to Sun Valley and Central Idaho through Jan. 25.

Enjoy Sun Valley's immaculate groomers on the Bald Mountain this weekend. Ninety-nine runs open, 45 groomers and 11 lifts in operation.

Have you ever visited Galena Lodge, north of Ketchum and Sun Valley? They have a great variety of xc and snowshoe trails, and they have a limited seating for dinner. Inquire at galenalodge.com.

Thanks for reading! My next forecast will be Monday, Jan. 16.
