Posting Schedule
I am traveling to ski with my family through February 2. In an attempt to spend as much time with them (and sleeping, too!), my posts will be shorter and more to the point than normal. Also, I will write on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule during periods with drier weather. Finally, at the bottom of each post, I will always mention when to expect the next post. Thanks for your understanding and your support!
Weekend Recap
This weekend was COLD! The storm dropped about 4 inches of snow on Friday night and Saturday, and then the bottom dropped out of the temperatures with on-mountain readings near and colder than zero. Brrr!
Monday
A look at the snow on Sunday night:
A secondary push of arctic air will create some snow on Sunday night and Monday, but accumulations will likely be only a coating to 2 inches as they will be limited by the lack of moisture in the very cold airmass.
Monday will be the coldest day of the week with temperatures of 0°F to -5°F during the day.
Then Monday night will be VERY cold with a temperature in the -10°F to -20°F range.
The Week
During the rest of the week, temperatures will become warmer and conditions will generally be dry with a low chance for snow on Wednesday night and Thursday.
- Tuesday: 15-20°F and likely dry.
- Wednesday: 10-15°F and likely dry.
- Thursday: 15-20°F with potential snow showers on Wednesday night or Thursday.
- Friday: 25-30°F and likely dry. It'll feel toasty:-)
The Next Storm
The next storm could bring snow to Colorado anytime between Saturday, January 25, and Monday, January 27. We are and will continue to be on the edge of the storm track, and while this keeps the odds low for significant snow, the atmosphere has found a way to provide snow each weekend of the year, so perhaps we'll stay on the weekend snow train through the end of the month.
