Flakes through Friday, then dry, then a storm mid next week

Summary

The storm on Thursday and Friday could bring us more snow, then the weekend will be dry. Our next chance for more snow will be during the middle of next week.

Update

Wednesday

Wednesday and Wednesday night's weather was mostly dry with a few snow showers now and again with just a dusting of accumulation.

Thursday

The weather on Thursday morning is mostly cloudy with snow showers hanging around.

The chances for accumulating snow will increase throughout the day as a storm tracks to the south of Colorado. From Thursday midday through Thursday night, we may see 1-4 inches of snowfall, and there is upside potential as some models show that intense showers should form near or just to the east of the mountain. The high temperature will be in the mid-20s.

Friday

Friday should be similar to Thursday with drier weather in the morning and then a higher chance for snow showers during the afternoon and evening. And again, we may see snow accumulations of a dusting to 3+ inches during the second half of the day and into the evening. The high temperature will be in the low 20s.

Saturday & Sunday

Saturday will likely be dry for a lot of the day, though there will be a chance for soft snow in the morning if we get the snow showers on Friday night, and some snow showers may pop up during the day as well. Sunday should be dry and mostly sunny. The high temperature on Saturday will be in the upper 20s and the high temperature on Sunday will be a little warmer, in the low 30s.

Next Week

Monday, March 11 should be dry with increasing clouds, Tuesday, March 12 should bring some snow showers, and then from Wednesday, March 13, to Friday, March 15, a storm will likely bring snow to all of Colorado. For the storm between March 13-15, my initial estimate is that it will track to the south of Colorado and that this track might allow the storm to deliver significant snow to our area of southern Colorado.

My next update will be Friday morning.
