Mostly Calm Weather

Summary

Mostly dry and warmer weather upcoming for Utah. Chance for showers returns next week to begin May.

Update

We are clear today as our storm has fully departed. Alta settled at 903" and it's likely that will be the official number when they stop counting on April 30. Of course, good chance for additional snow in May so I will continue to count as best I can.

Warmer, drier weather continues through the weekend. We do have a weak storm that will drop down the Rockies to our east and just brush Utah on Thursday evening into early Friday. We will see winds pick up and some clouds and maybe even a shower or two, especially on the northern slope of the Uintas. GFS precip keeps most of it to our east however:

We then clear out with warm, calm weather for the weekend. Good spring skiing weekend!

Next week, a cut-off low will spin down into California and then perhaps work its way east into the Great Basin. This could bring us chances for showers next week, but confidence in timing/strength is almost impossible to gauge at this point. We could have some showers around during the first week of May with cooler temperatures.

P.S. I will largely be ending forecasts at the end of the month. I will update if a stronger storm is coming, and provide periodic updates on social media (@WasatchSnow on Twitter, @wasatchsnowforecast on Instagram)
