And the Best Powder goes to... Utah

Summary

Snow all day today with significant accumulations. A secondary wave on Tuesday will bring light additional accumulations. Today and Tuesday should be great powder days.

Short Term Forecast

Today is a storm day with snow falling in Northern Utah. Don't overthink it, just go enjoy it!

Cold front is slowly sagging south this morning. Ahead of this front, we've seen snow falling in a SW flow. As is typical, Brighton and Deer Valley have reported the most snow. The flow will turn west/northwesterly later today along and behind the front. Total accumulations by late tonight should be in the 15-24" range.

Tomorrow, a second wave will bring additional snow showers to the region, although accumulations with this should be light (1-3").

High pressure takes control by Wednesday and holds thru at least the end of the work week.

Extended Forecast

GFS and Euro totally at odds with each other.  Euro keeps us high and dry for the first 10 days of March.  GFS, on the other hand, drops the storm track into the region as early as next weekend with increasing chances for storms. I guess we have no option but to wait and see which model has a better handle on things.
