Saturday morning pow

Summary

Friday was mostly dry, Friday night delivered snow, and now on Saturday morning, we will enjoy the freshies along with chilly temperatures.

Update

Friday was another mixed day with some sunshine, some clouds, and some snow showers.

Friday night is when our storm arrived and we picked up a quick 5 inches at mid-mountain and 5 inches at Blue Sky Basin.

Now on Saturday, we will enjoy the 5 inches of powder that fell on Friday night, and dress warmly as temperatures on the hill are close to 0°F in the morning and the high temperature will likely stay in the single digits (above zero).

Sunday will be another mixed day with some sunshine, some clouds, and some snow showers, and the high temperatures will be a little warmer and rise to around 10-15°F.

Sunday night to Monday midday will bring another round of snow. The storm energy will be rather strong but moisture could be lacking due to the cold airmass, so I am keeping my snow expectations low with just a couple of inches likely by early Monday. That said, a few higher-resolution forecast models show deeper totals by Monday midday, so I'll be keeping a close eye on the snow stake to see if we can get an upside surprise.

Monday afternoon to Wednesday evening should be dry and warmer with daytime highs of about 30°F on Tuesday and Wednesday. These days will feel like spring.

Thursday and Friday (March 30-31) will be the timing of our next storm. This looks like a moderate system with some powder possible on Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday morning depending on the exact timing of the storm.

In the longer range, more snow is likely from later on Sunday, April 2 through about Friday, April 7. This is the season when it just won't stop snowing. What fun!!!
