Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Vail Daily Snow

Cold with more snow

The next storm will bring flakes from later Sunday to later Monday with at least a few inches of accumulation.

Saturday was a chilly day with a high temperature in the 5-10°F range on the hill and the weather was a mix of breaks of sunshine, clouds, and snow showers that delivered a dusting on Saturday and a dusting on Saturday night.

Sunday will be another mixed day with some sunshine, some clouds, and some snow showers, and the high temperatures will be a little warmer and rise to around 10-15°F.

Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon will bring another round of snow. The storm energy will be strong but moisture will be lacking due to the cold airmass, so I am keeping my snow expectations low with just a couple of inches likely by Monday midday. That said, a few higher-resolution forecast models show deeper totals by Monday midday, so keep your eye on the snow stake to see if there will be a bit of magic on Monday.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and most of Thursday will be dry and warmer with daytime highs of about 30-35°F. These days will feel like spring with plenty of sunshine most of the time and more clouds by later on Thursday.

The next storm will bring snow from Thursday night to Friday evening. My early read on this storm is that Friday will be the day with the best chance for powder, and total snowfall could be 5-10 inches with the chance for snow getting better throughout the day on Friday due to moisture and storm energy that will wrap around the system and back into Colorado.

In the longer range, we should see mostly dry weather on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, then another storm should bring snow from later Sunday, April 2 through about Tuesday, April 4, with yet another storm possible between about Friday, April 7 and Sunday, April 9.
