In a nutshell, this year will be much improved over last year.

First of all...we will not have the late start this year! Whistler was barely open in early Dec of 2018. This year expect a good start closer to Thanksgiving. Whistler is one of the most reliable early-season ski areas anywhere and this year will be improved from last year. Also, El Nino is gone, which is good. El Nino tend to suppress NW snowfall. A neutral pattern has now formed and that will mean a near-normal winterl...and normal is great in the NW. 

Snowmaking is great at Whistler, but they still need some natural snow to open the alpine. The snow will come and we'll be skiing near Thanksgiving. I have plans to ski Whistler in December, so I am confident the snow will fly.
