Update

We saw 2 inches accumulate late on Thursday afternoon, with 8 inches on Thursday night, and this brings the 24-hour snow report to 10 inches on Friday morning. Snow conditions should be soft on all north-facing slopes, and while you might feel some a crust from the previous warm days on other slopes, 10 inches usually goes a long way to covering this up.

The rest of Friday should turn out to be sunnier with temperatures rising into the 20s. The higher sun angle of mid-March will heat up the snow, so get out early in the day for the lightest conditions.

We will see dry weather on Saturday, Saturday night, and Sunday morning.

Then the next storm will bring snow on Sunday, but it likely will not start until later in the day, so I do not think much snow will accumulate during the day on Sunday.

On Sunday night, the storm will strengthen as it moves across Colorado, and this setup could result in a lot of snow. I have seen Sunday night’s weather pattern translate into surprisingly deep and fluffy snow, so Monday morning could be a great powder day for some areas of northern Colorado, including Winter Park. If you like to ski powder, keep Monday morning on your radar as we might be able to get close to another double-digit powder day.

Beyond the snow on Monday morning, expect light snow showers to continue through Tuesday, with dry weather during the middle of next week.

The next storm should arrive on Thursday, and we will see multiple days with snow from Thursday through the end of March. More powder days await!

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
