Winter Park Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Winter Park Daily Snow

Update

Sunday, today, is when the storm arrives, and I do not see any data that would make me change the forecast.

We will begin to see a few showers around Sunday midday, then we should see steadier snow on Sunday afternoon. You might find a bit of fresh snow during the final few runs of the day.

Then on Sunday night, the storm will strengthen as it moves east into southwestern Kansas, and this storm track will result in a wind blowing from the northwest. The combination of the northwest wind, wrap-around moisture, and mountaintop temperatures cooling to the 10-15F range can bring significant snowfall to Winter Park, so keep your eye on the mid-mountain snow stake camera to see if Monday morning will offer close to double-digit totals of fresh, fluffy powder (I think it will).

Snow showers should continue through Monday morning with a few inches of snow after the 500 am morning report, then we’ll see the steady snow come to an end by Monday midday or early afternoon. A few additional snow showers could push through from Monday night to Tuesday night, but accumulations look light or zero at this time.

Following dry weather on Wednesday and possibly through most of Thursday, the next storm will bring snow starting later on Thursday and extending through Friday night. This storm will be on the warmer side and its track might not favor Winter Park, but with the storm pushing abundant moisture into Colorado, we could get lucky with deeper snow totals by Friday or Saturday. After that system, a colder storm should bring more snow starting around Sunday and continue through early the following week.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
