Winter Park Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 6 years ago April 22, 2018
Update
An additional 2 inches of snow accumulated on Saturday morning, which brought the storm total to 6 inches. That was still below the low end of my 8-16 inch forecast as the strongest part of the storm on Friday night never came together for Winter Park, likely due to an intrusion of dry air.
Oh well, we can’t win ‘em all, but the month of April has been kind to Winter Park overall. During April, we measured new snow on 12 of 22 days with 54 inches of accumulation. That’s well above average!
Now on Sunday, April 22nd, it is Winter Park's last day of the season, and after some morning clouds, we should see plenty of sunshine with high temperatures in the mid-40s.
Mary Jane will stay open for another two weeks, with closing day set for Sunday, May 6th. If you’re planning to ski the Jane, you might find a little bit of fresh snow on Tuesday, April 24th, and there might be a stronger storm around May 1-2.
Thanks so much for reading the Winter Park Daily Snow this season, and I’ll post one more time on Monday to wrap things up.
