Winter Park Daily Snow

Update
Tuesday morning powder day!
On Monday, we talked about expecting 1-4 inches on Monday and Monday night with higher totals possible. I am happy to say that this worked out! Mid-mountain is reporting 6 inches, with 3 inches on Monday afternoon and 3 inches on Monday night. With cold temperatures, the snow quality is likely light and dry and this fresh pow should ski very well as this new snow is sitting on top of fresh and soft snow that has fallen on four of the past 5 days. Get out and enjoy it!
Tuesday
Light snow will continue in the morning and then we should see some sunshine by late morning and midday. Temperatures will be cold, sticking in the single digits to low teens. Enjoy the freshies!
Wednesday
There is no change to my thinking for this day. A weak system will move across northern Colorado and Winter Park might be able to eke out 1-3 inches during the day. Temperatures will rise into the upper teens to low 20s.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday
We should see some snow, but I have low confidence in the details of the forecast. A storm will move over New Mexico, and this storm track is usually much too far south to bring significant snow to Winter Park. However, enough moisture might push northward into central and northern Colorado that we could actually see accumulating snow. Stay tuned as I try to lock in the details.
Sunday and Monday
We should see two full days of dry and sunny weather, with the warmest day on Monday as highs reach the 30s. Enjoy this brief break of sunshine!
Storms return during the middle of next week
All forecast models are still consistent in their expectation that snow should return to Colorado starting around Tuesday, December 11th or Wednesday, December 12th. The storm that arrives on the 11th or 12th could be weaker, but there is a good chance for additional storms through the middle of December, so I think our powder party will continue.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
