Winter Park Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 3 years ago January 12, 2021
At least three storms during the next seven days at Winter Park
Summary
Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry, then we’ll see snow on Thursday, Saturday, and likely again next Monday into Tuesday.
Short Term Forecast
Tuesday will be a dry day with chilly temperatures at the base during the morning but temperatures across the mountain will warm into the upper 20s by midday. We will see some clouds moving overhead, filtering the sunshine at times.
Wednesday will start with dry weather and calm conditions, then by Wednesday afternoon we’ll see wind speeds pick up, clouds move over, and snow showers should start by evening.
From Wednesday night through Thursday, we will see gusty winds of 50+ mph and bursts of intense snow as well as light snow showers. Total accumulations should be at least a few inches with soft turns possible on Thursday morning. Temperatures will be in the teens. The strong wind speed could be the biggest impact of this storm.
Friday will offer a break in the weather with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the teens. Winds could stay gusty, at least through the morning.
Our next storm should arrive on Friday night with snow falling through Saturday and into Saturday night. At least another few inches should accumulate during this time with soft turns possible on Saturday and again on Sunday morning.
Extended Forecast
Looking ahead to next week, I am keeping my eye on two chances for snow.
The first chance could be on Sunday night through Monday, and maybe even extending into Tuesday.
The second chance could be around Thursday, January 21st.
We are moving into a more active and stormy pattern across the Rockies and let’s hope that this continues to translate into storms for us in Colorado and eventually some deeper snow totals.
Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
