Winter Park Daily Snow

Snowy Saturday at Winter Park
Summary
Snow should soften during the day on Saturday. Enjoy it!
Short Term Forecast
Friday was a partly sunny day with high temperatures in the 30s.
On Friday night, snow showers began, and they ramped up just before sunrise early on Saturday morning with 1 inch on the snow stake.
On Saturday, expect on-and-off snow showers during the entire day. Additional accumulations should be 2-5 inches and turns should get softer through the afternoon.
On Saturday night, while most models show little or no snow, there is a chance for a little bit more fluff thanks to the combination of favorable temperatures, additional storm energy, and the jet stream moving overhead. I can’t promise that it’ll happen, but I’ve seen this situation before so I’ll watch the snow stake closely.
After the storm, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday will be dry. Sunday will be the sunniest day with highs in the 20s, and Monday and Tuesday should bring more clouds with highs in the 30s.
Extended Forecast
Starting on Wednesday, February 3, we will see a storm cycle that could bring snow every 36 hours for the better part of 5 to 7 days. This is good news, though the details of each storm within this storm cycle are still uncertain.
My best estimate right now is that our highest chances for snow will be Wednesday into Thursday, Friday into Saturday, and likely early the following week (February 8-10).
Let’s hope this storm cycle comes together and produces consistent snow that piles up over many days – we could use it!
