At Winter Park, springtime through Saturday, then snow on Sunday

Summary

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, look forward to warm and sunny weather with spring conditions. Then snow will arrive on Saturday night and there could be powder to enjoy on Sunday.

Short Term Forecast

We just enjoyed new snow on 6 of the past 8 days with about 34 total inches of accumulation, and now we’ll have a break in the snowfall.

For Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, look forward to three days of spring skiing and riding with plenty of sunshine and warm afternoon temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Snow conditions will be firm and crunchy in the morning then softer and slushy by the afternoon. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen, and enjoy!

Extended Forecast

From Saturday evening through Sunday morning, snow will return and temperatures will cool. We could see at least 3-6 inches of new snow by Sunday afternoon and possibly more if a cold front stalls over the area.

The rest of next week and into the following weekend (March 27-28) will bring additional storms to Colorado but it is too early to know if these storms will bring a lot of snow to Winter Park or if they will track further to the south and east and leave us with lower chances for snow. We’ll figure this out, but it’ll likely take a few more days until the forecast models get into alignment.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
