Powder on Tuesday morning at Winter Park

Summary

Monday night’s storm delivered 5 inches, so enjoy this powder on Tuesday morning then get ready for sunshine and warmth and classic spring conditions.

Short Term Forecast

On Monday, we saw sunny and dry weather with strong winds that gusted to 50-60mph.

On Monday night, snow arrived as we expected with 5 inches accumulating on the mid-mountain snow stake as of about 400am on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, get out early to enjoy the new snow, and dress somewhat warmly as even with some sunshine temperatures will be chilly, only rising into the teens and maybe low 20s.

On Wednesday, look forward to sunny weather and warmer high temperatures in the 20s and 30s.

Extended Forecast

From April 1-5, we will see dry weather, mostly sunny skies, and warm temperatures with afternoon highs in the 40s. It will feel like springtime and snow conditions should be crunchy and firm in the morning and then rapidly soften by mid-to-late morning.

Starting on April 6 and through mid-April, pieces of a storm along the west coast should move east and bring occasional chances for precipitation here in Colorado. While this weather pattern could deliver more accumulating snow a few different times through our closing day, it’s likely that most of the days during the first half of April will offer classic spring conditions rather than powder. Pack your sunscreen!
