Sunday showers, Monday snow

Summary

Sunday will be warm and showery during the midday, afternoon, and evening. Then on Sunday night and Monday, we should see snow with at least several inches of accumulation.

Short Term Forecast

Reminder: The Winter Park side is closed, and Mary Jane will remain open through Sunday, May 9.

Saturday was a warm day with on-mountain high temperatures in the 50s.

Now on Sunday morning, conditions are warm and dry, though showers will move through during the midday and afternoon with some raindrops, some snowflakes at the summit, and a threat of lightning.

From Sunday night through Monday afternoon, expect periods of steadier snow and 3-6 inches of accumulation. Snow conditions could be on the softer side near the summit both on Monday morning (thanks so any snow on Sunday night) and throughout the day on Monday as showers continue.

Tuesday morning could also be on the softer side if any snow continues to accumulate on Monday evening. The weather on Tuesday morning should be dry, then we’ll see another round of showers on Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night which could drop a few more inches in time for Wednesday morning.

Extended Forecast

We should see dry weather from Wednesday, May 5 through Saturday, May 8. Then another storm could arrive just in time for closing day on Sunday, May 9.

I will write daily updates through this next storm and then post my final update on Wednesday, May 5.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
