It’s Monday and it’s back to winter

Summary

On Sunday, we saw snow showers during the afternoon and evening, then additional snow fell on Sunday night. Expect more flakes on Monday and showers through Wednesday.

Short Term Forecast

Reminder: The Winter Park side is closed, and Mary Jane will remain open through Sunday, May 9.

Sunday started dry but quickly turned showery with about 2 inches of accumulation.

Then on Sunday night, showers returned with another 2 inches of accumulation at mid-mountain.

Now on Monday morning, we’re seeing temperatures in the 20s with continued showers, and we’ll likely see light accumulations (a few inches) throughout the day on Monday.

On Monday night into Tuesday morning, snow showers should decrease and stop.

Then from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon, additional showers should drop 1-4 additional inches of snow.

Winter will lose its grip later in the week as we see dry and warm weather on Thursday and Friday with on-mountain high temperatures in the 50s.

Extended Forecast

On Saturday and Sunday, May 8-9, yet another spring storm will arrive with showers and the chance for accumulating snow. But closing day will be on Sunday, May 9 so the lift-serviced season will come to an end even though the atmosphere will keep snow falling from the sky.

As for the Winter Park Daily Snow, I will write daily updates through this current storm and then post my final update on Wednesday, May 5.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
