More snow on Saturday

Summary

Friday will bring a one-day break in the weather, then snow will return on Saturday morning.

Update

Thursday was the culmination of this week's strong storm as 3 inches accumulated during the morning and there was deep and sometimes wind-affected powder across the mountain.

On Thursday afternoon and evening, the storm moved away to our north and east leaving dry weather and calm conditions now on Friday morning just before sunrise.

Friday will be a calm day with sunny skies and a high temperature in the 30s.

The next storm will bring snow starting on Saturday just after sunrise, and snow should fall steadily in the morning through midday. Then on Saturday afternoon and evening, the snow should switch over to more scattered and on-then-off-again showers. Total snowfall on Saturday should be in the 2-6 inch range, and based on the timing of the snow, there could be more on the hill during the first few morning runs than what we see listed on the 500am report. Unlike the last storm which delivered strong winds and dense snow, Saturday's storm should bring slower winds and less dense, fluffy snow.

Any lingering snow should end by Saturday evening, then on Sunday, we will flip back to sunny skies and calm weather with a high temperature in the upper teens to low 20s.

Looking ahead to next week, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be dry with lots of sunshine and high temperatures in the 30s. Later in the week, around the 13th and 14th, there could be some snow if we get lucky and storm energy from our north and from our south happens to merge over Colorado, but at this point, I am keeping my expectations for snow very low.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
