Dry through Thursday, maybe snow on Friday

Summary

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will bring comfortable temperatures and dry weather. Then we might see snowflakes return on Friday.

Update

Monday was beautifully sunny all day and temperatures rose to around 30 degrees.

Now on Tuesday morning, the temperature inversion is back with readings around 10°F at the base and around 20°F on the upper mountain. Also, high and thin clouds will move across the sky on Tuesday morning, maybe slowing the day's warming a bit and keeping conditions firm for a little longer than usual.

For the rest of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, expect dry weather with times of brilliant sunshine and times when high, thin clouds filter the sunshine. Temperatures each morning will start colder at the base and be warmer on the upper mountain, then daytime highs will rise into the 30s at all elevations with Thursday likely being the warmest day.

On Friday, we could see some snow as a storm tracks into Colorado from the northwest and picks up a bit of moisture from a storm to our southwest. At this point, I am leaning toward a 'very little snow' scenario that likely will not make much of an impact on snow conditions or travel, and I'll keep you updated if and how the forecast changes.

Looking out to this weekend and the next two weeks, the general weather pattern is not a favorable one for a lot of snow here in Colorado, but there are still chances for snow, especially during the middle and end of next week (January 19-22). While we might be taking a break from natural snow for a while, at least our snowpack is nicely above the median and the low sun angle of January will allow our snow to stick around.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
