Cool on Wednesday and Thursday, some snow on Friday
Summary
High temperatures will be in the teens through Thursday, then our best chance to see snow this week will be on Friday.
Update
Tuesday was dry and mostly cloudy with a high temperature in the 20s and low 30s.
Now on Wednesday morning, a quick check of the snow stake shows no new snowfall. We'll need to wait about two more days to see measurable snow.
On Wednesday, I expect partly-to-mostly cloudy skies and chilly temperatures in the teens. We might see a few flurries later on Wednesday or Wednesday night.
On Thursday, I expect partly sunny skies and continued chilly temperatures in the teens.
From late Friday morning through Friday early afternoon, a storm might bring some snow to the mountain, but accumulations should be light. Then from Friday afternoon through Friday night, the wind direction will switch to blow from the northeast, and this could bring a few hours of steadier snowfall and a couple of inches of accumulation. If this happens, the best chance for the softest turns should be on Saturday morning.
The upcoming weekend (Saturday, January 22 to Sunday, January 23) will be dry and mostly sunny. Temperatures will be in the teens on Saturday and in the 20s on Sunday.
Our next chance for snow will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 25-26. Unfortunately, this will be another storm that will not take a favorable track and will not bring us a lot of snow.
The good news is that the switch to a stormier weather pattern is still in the forecast for the end of January and the beginning of February. I will hopefully be able to share more specifics in the next week or so.
Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
