Snow on Wednesday

Summary

The next round of snow should deliver powder on Wednesday into Thursday.

Update

On Monday afternoon and Monday night, a surge of moisture brought a few snowflakes to the mountain with about 1 inch of accumulation, and the deeper accumulating snow stayed just to the west of our location.

Now on Tuesday, there could be a few snow showers through about noon on Tuesday, then from Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening, we will see mostly dry weather.

The next round of snow will fall from Tuesday night through Wednesday night.

On Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, the wind direction from the southwest will not be favorable so I am expecting lower snow totals, maybe a few inches.

On Wednesday, the wind direction will be from the west-northwest which is somewhat favorable and could lead to 2-4+ inches of snow accumulation with the powder getting softer and deeper through the day.

On Wednesday evening from about sunset to midnight, the wind direction will be from the northwest which is the most favorable direction. This northwest flow is tricky and could produce anything from 2-4 inches to 3-6+ inches of fluffy powder. It will be worth watching the snow stake cam to see if Thursday morning will feature fluffy powder on top of the soft snow that accumulated on Wednesday.

From Thursday through Saturday, expect dry weather with mostly sunny skies and comfortably warm high temperatures between the mid-20s and the mid-30s.

Then a stormy period will begin on Sunday, January 15 with three storms likely between then and Saturday, January 21.
