Snow Wednesday to Saturday

Summary

It will feel like winter through Saturday and there might even be enough snow for some powder on Saturday morning. Then Sunday will flip back to dry and warmer weather.

Update

Tuesday was a mixed day with some sunshine, some clouds, gusty afternoon winds, and a high temperature in the 40s.

Now on Wednesday morning, the storm is moving into Colorado and snow is about 50 miles to the west of the mountain.

We will see multiple rounds of snowfall from Wednesday through Saturday, and here is how I think it will play out.

  • Wednesday should deliver a few inches of snow during the day.

  • Wednesday night into Thursday morning should bring a break in the snowfall.

  • Thursday afternoon to Friday morning will likely bring another round of snow showers.

  • Friday evening to Saturday midday should deliver a period of intense snowfall with possibly more than 4 inches of accumulation and perhaps enough to make Saturday morning feel like a real powder day.

Temperatures from Wednesday through Saturday will be in the teens and 20s, and if we can get some snow each day, maybe, just maybe, the hard and crusty base will soften enough so that the burst of snow on Friday night will ride nicely on Saturday morning. Total snowfall from Wednesday through Saturday should be in the 5-10 inch range.

Then on Sunday, April 23, we will likely experience dry and warmer weather with a high temperature in the 30s, and this is before another storm will likely arrive early next week.
