Thursday morning freshies

Summary

Snow fell on Wednesday night, and now on Thursday, there is (some) powder and very cold temperatures.

Update

Wednesday turned out to be dry for most of the day as the storm took longer to cross Colorado than I expected.

On Wednesday evening, a band of intense snow moved near the mountain but stayed just to the west for most of the evening. Still, we managed to eke out about 2 inches of new snow at mid-mountain.

Now on Thursday morning, there are 2 inches of new snow to enjoy, but keep in mind that the base is hard and crusty and it will likely not be a typically soft powder day. No matter, it'll be a fun winter-like morning with fresh snow, clearing skies, and chilly temperatures that are in the single digits.

From Thursday afternoon to Thursday evening, snow showers could deliver anything from a dusting to a few inches of accumulation. Then we will see drying weather toward Friday morning.

The next round of snow will fall from Friday afternoon to Friday night with 5-10 inches of accumulation and powder possible on Saturday morning. While the steadiest snow will end by Saturday morning, we should see snow showers and clouds linger through Saturday afternoon.

Sunday will flip from winter to spring as it will be mostly sunny and warmer with a high temperature in the 30s.

For next week, we will get back on the storm train with more snow likely from later Monday through Wednesday.
