Help Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts

In an effort to help support COVID-19 relief efforts, we have created a resource for local foundations that are deploying funds to the most vulnerable members of our communities.

This article will be continuously updated as we gather more information.

Please send an email to [email protected] if you would like us to add a relief effort for your local community. Include a link and a 1-2 sentence description.

Social Distancing

In order to beat COVID-19, we all need to isolate ourselves as much as possible. The sooner and more completely we do that, the sooner we can all get back to what we love. Visit coronavirus.gov and follow the guidelines from the Center for Disease Control for more information.

Goggles For Docs

This is an effort to get used or new ski goggles into the hands of healthcare workers who currently have no eye protection as they treat COVID-19 patients.

There's a shortage of masks, gowns, gloves, and other critical supplies to protect our medical professionals in hospitals across the world. Fortunately, masks, gowns, and equipment are cheap. Unfortunately, transporting them isn’t free. If you want to help frontline responders in our hospitals, chip in whatever you can afford.

New York City hospitals are running out of supplies for their frontline healthcare workers who are treating COVID-19 patients. A Million Masks for NYC's goal is to acquire, distribute, and deliver a million masks to hospitals in NYC with the help of your donations.

The Colorado COVID Relief Fund is hosted by the State of Colorado and Mile High United Way. Funds will provide flexible resources to organizations working with communities that are disproportionately impacted by the outbreak.

The Lake County Community Disaster Relief Fund is helping to respond immediately to the current novel coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis situation. The Fund distributions are determined by Lake County Office of Emergency Management and Lake County Public Health with consultation from Lake County Human Services and partner non-profit, service organizations.

Feed the Frontlines Boulder

Health workers at Boulder Community Health and across Boulder County are gearing up for battle against COVID-19. At the same time, local independent restaurants that are a big part of our community are suffering from the devastating economic impact of the virus. Feed the Frontlines Boulder created a program that lets the community donate meals from local restaurants to health workers on the frontlines. Health workers get a nourishing meal, and local restaurants get badly needed business to keep running and keep staff employed.

This fund, working in partnership and coordination with Tahoe Magic in South Lake Tahoe, is supporting the community relief with a leadership team of seven committed individuals. They will support food delivery, emergency assistance, essential needs, child support, older adult services and so very much more, in every El Dorado County community.

The Tahoe Together Community Support Fund will support local nonprofits helping our community members directly impacted by COVID-19 and the shutdown of our tourist-based economy. It provides resources for basic, immediate needs as well as long-term recovery and resilience throughout the Tahoe region.  Every dollar donated will be matched, up to a total of $100,000.

The Idaho Community Foundation, in partnership with United Ways of Idaho and the Idaho Nonprofit Center, has created a COVID-19 Response Fund for Idaho. Donations will be funneled to local community nonprofits to provide support and services to low-income, vulnerable people and families.

Mammoth Lakes Tourism has partnered with US Foods to organize a drive-through food bank. They are offering a hand to keep food on the table for those community members in dire need.

Sam Collentine is the Chief Operating Officer of OpenSnow and lives in Basalt, Colorado. Before joining OpenSnow, he studied Atmospheric Science at the University of Colorado, spent time at Channel 7 News in Denver, and at the National Weather Service in Boulder.
