We are excited to announce that Estimated 24-Hour Snow Reports are now available on OpenSnow for backcountry, heli-skiing, cat-skiing, and nordic locations around the world, along with ski resorts that do not provide snow report information.
These estimated snow reports are being generated with our proprietary blend of global weather model data and show how much snow fell between 5:00 AM on the previous day and 5:00 AM on the current day.
View the data by clicking into any location screen and selecting the "Snow Report" tab.
Example → Berthoud Pass
The data can also be viewed on any mountain comparison screen across OpenSnow.
Example → Colorado Backcountry
This data is available exclusively to All-Access members. Snow reports that are provided to OpenSnow from the ski resorts will always be free.
And to clarify one more time, these snow reports are estimates and large discrepancies could be observed compared to what is reported from nearby ski resorts. Sometimes they're very accurate, most of the time they're in the ballpark, and sometimes they're off the mark by at least a few inches.
