Upside Down

Summary

Temperatures are already inverted with respect to elevation and that’s going to be the main story for the weekend through early next week. Why is that? Because a ridge of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere is warming up our higher slopes and ridges, while squashing the coldest air down into the valleys. This is also producing stratus and fog in the lowest elevations, so be careful on the drive up. Once you get above the clouds it will be warm and sunny.
