Steamboat Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Update

Steamboat has recorded 6.5 inches of snow over the past three days. This is enough to keep conditions soft and hopefully prime the slopes for more snow coming up!

Sunday should be a mostly cloudy and mostly dry day. Like the past few days, we’ll have plenty of moisture, but we’ll lack the spark of storm energy and/or cold air to help the atmosphere convert the moisture into snowflakes.

This should change when storm energy creates an intense band of snow on Monday morning, and this band should drop a quick couple of inches right around first chair.

Then I am not sure what will happen for the rest of Monday and Monday evening. The band of intense snow could sag south, leaving Steamboat with lighter snow, or the slightly colder air could bring additional accumulations.

On Monday night and Tuesday, we’ll see much colder air, and this should help snow showers to re-develop. All of this means that we should see some powder on Monday morning, and then there is a good chance for powder on Tuesday with snow throughout the day. The range of possible accumulations is wide, from just a few inches, all the way to double digits if the storm comes together.

Snow will end on Tuesday night, and Wednesday should be sunny with fresh and soft snow in the morning. After that, our next chances for snow will be on Friday and then again early next week.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
