Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Steamboat Daily Snow

Update

The weather on Thursday should be similar to Wednesday with mid-mountain high temperatures in the low-30s (summit high temperatures in the mid-20s) and partly sunny skies. There is enough moisture moving over northern Colorado that I have to keep mentioning the chance for clouds.

On Friday, again expect highs in the low-30s and we will likely see more clouds and potentially light snow showers during the afternoon.

On Friday night, a storm will drop into the northern mountains of Colorado, and this should bring a few inches of snow, with another few inches on Saturday morning and midday.

This timing means that you should find fresh snow on Saturday morning and midday with storm totals in the 2-4 inch range. The area of the most intense snow will be relatively narrow and may stay just a bit to the east and south of Steamboat, so I cannot give a highly confident forecast for a Saturday powder day. But Saturday morning and midday do have the best chance of powder during this weekend, so if you’re itching for fresh snow, get out there!

Any snow on Saturday morning should wind down on Saturday afternoon and evening, then we should see dry weather on Sunday and Monday.

The next storm will likely bring light snow to Steamboat on Monday night and Tuesday, so look for perhaps a few fresh inches on Tuesday. After that, I think we'll have dry weather for a few days, with another chance for snow around President’s Day weekend, roughly between Friday-Monday, February 16-19.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
