Update

The official Sunday morning snow report shows 5 inches of accumulation at mid-mountain, though the summit snow stake camera shows that about 2 inches of snow fell on Saturday night, so accumulations might be quite variable across the mountain. Nonetheless, this additional snow and very cold temperatures will keep the snow surface soft.

Speaking of temperatures, they stayed in the single digits on Saturday, didn’t move very much on Saturday night, and won’t rise to more than about 10F on Sunday. Brrr ... dress warmly!

The weather on Sunday should switch from snow showers in the morning to sunshine during the afternoon.

Monday and Tuesday should be dry and warmer with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s.

The next storm could bring a few flakes to Steamboat on Tuesday night and Wednesday, though the storm will take a southerly track through New Mexico and thus will not a be a big snow producer for us here in Colorado.

After that, expect dry weather on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

It appears that our next chance for significant accumulations will be on Saturday night through Sunday (March 4) as a storm over the west coast heads east into the Rockies.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for an update each morning!
