Update

The official snow report, which measures new snow at mid-mountain, notes that 1 inch fell on Thursday and another inch fell on Thursday night for a total 24-hour report of 2 inches. That brings us up to 12 inches of snow for the week. Yes, we could use a lot more snow, but every flake counts and it's great to see the mountain covered in white.

There will be lingering clouds on Friday morning, then we should see plenty of sunshine with afternoon temperatures rising into the 20s. The weather for this weekend and next week will continue to be sunny with temperatures heading into the upper 30s during the day and likely dropping below freezing at night, which should allow crews to continue to make snow.

Our dry and warm weather pattern should adjust after the middle of December, and we will have the chance for our next storm on or around December 17th. After that, the rest of December does appear like it will bring a more active weather pattern, but it's a bit too soon to know if this active pattern will stay just to our north or if it will drop south and bring storms to Colorado. Steamboat is in the very northern part of Colorado, so if the northern storm track drops just a bit further south, Steamboat is in a good position to see flakes. Stay tuned for daily updates!
