Snowy Long-Range...

Summary

Sunny today through Wednesday. Highs today in the 40's with wind gusts to 25 mph on the mountain tops. Temperatures warming slightly through Wednesday with highs in the 40's on the mountains and near 50 at lake level. Winds look lighter Mon-Wed up high. Thursday the winds and clouds increase as the next storm pushes in. Forecast models split on whether or not heavy precip pushes into the Tahoe basin with this storm. Snow levels start around 8000 feet before falling to lake level by the end of the day. We could see an inch or two at lake level and 2-5 inches on the mountains. The next storm moves into CA Friday night into Saturday. The forecast models again are split on whether the storm misses us to the South or is far enough North for a few more inches of snowfall. The snow levels look to be below lake level. We may see a series of stronger storms starting next weekend and going into the following week. These storms may bring feet of snow to the Tahoe basin.
