Finally Some Snow...

Summary

Sunny and windy today with highs in the 40's, and winds picking up with gusts to 65 mph on the mountain tops by afternoon. During the early morning hours Wednesday a cold front moves through bringing back much colder air with highs in the 20's. The cold front will bring a quick shot of snow with 1-5 inches possible at lake level and 2-8 inches possible on the mountains, highest amounts on the West side of the lake. We clear out Wednesday afternoon with sunny skies through the weekend. Highs start cold Thursday in the 20's on the mountains to low 30's at lake level, then into the 30's through the weekend. Winds may continue to be breezy on the mountains so keep an eye on the lift operations. Christmas Day should have similar weather, but then Christmas night the forecast models are hinting at us getting brushed by a storm moving through to the North. That could bring some more light snow and some colder air. The last few days of the month and into January we are watching to see if a new pattern sets up that could bring more significant snowfall.
